I met Cathleen many years ago, in fact too many years to count! We began chatting at state grant reading sessions and then furthered the conversations through our membership in CTEoc and then finally the Board of Vitallink.

Cathleen is a fountain of information, a leader, a connector, a doer, and a collaborator. She is one who will not quit giving to her community. Her retirement will likely ramp up her community involvement.

Congratulations my friend and thank you for your service and passion for our Orange County Community! You have opened doors for our future leaders and in doing that improved all of our lives.

My dearest Dr. Greiner,

Oh, how I remember with so much joy (and a bit of trauma) our time working together at the little college on the hill. Our family at Cuesta was dysfunctional – no question about it. And we made the most out of it. Gosh, did we enjoy some good wine – we needed lots of it – and good food and conversation! I can still hear your laughter while we processed together “What the hell just happened in that meeting?” after College Council, Enrollment Management, President’s Cabinet… every character played an interesting part in the comedy of our time at Cuesta.

Sigh… thank you for so much joy, learning, and inspiration to, above all, love the world and others with compassion. You have left an indelible mark in the lives of so many, mine included. Thank you forever. May this new chapter bring continued growth, loads of travel, scrumptious food, and exceptional wine. Oh yes – and wisdom.
