Before Dad goes to work, he finds himself on a special place called Rug Island. This island is magical because everything is made from colorful felt pens. It is a fun and creative place. Bluey and Bingo, Dad's kids, teach him how to do things on the island. They show him how to fish, gather food, and build a fire. Dad enjoys learning and spending time with his children. Just when Dad starts to feel at home, something unexpected happens. A football from the neighbor’s yard rolls onto Rug Island. Dad has to decide whether to return the ball or keep playing with Bluey and Bingo. Instead of acting like a grown-up, he chooses to join in the fun. He protects their special game, which they call the ‘white chocolate egg.’ By doing this, Dad shows that he can still be a kid at heart. When it’s finally time for Dad to leave Rug Island and go to work, Bingo gives him a special gift. She hands him a pen of his own, which means a lot to him. This pen reminds Dad of the fun they had together on the island and how important it is to play and be silly sometimes. In the end, Dad learns that being a parent doesn’t mean you have to stop having fun. Rug Island teaches him to embrace his playful side, and he leaves with a happy heart and a special reminder of his adventure.
