3. The Egg Tapping Battles of Greece & Eastern Europe

During Easter, many Eastern European countries, including Greece and Serbia, hold epic egg battles called “tsougrisma.” Their competition eggs are dyed red showing that they are battle-ready. They take the competition pretty seriously because winning is considered a sign of good luck for the entire year!

4. Cajun Egg Pocking (Louisiana, USA)

Down in Louisiana, especially among Cajun communities, “egg pocking” is a big Easter tradition. Some families take it super seriously, even training their eggs (okay, not really, but they do pick the strongest ones they can find and I’m sure they have special diets for their chickens). There’s usually a prize for the winner, as well as major bragging rights.

  • Hold it right: Grip the egg with just enough force to absorb the impact but not so much that your fingers end up cracking your own egg.
