A Pizza My Heart

Valentine’s Day had always been Mia’s favorite. She loved the chocolates, the cards, and, of course, the heart-shaped everything. But this year felt a little different. Her boyfriend, Jake, had been acting weird all week—whispering on the phone, hiding his screen when she walked into the room, and disappearing for hours.

So when Jake asked her to meet him at Luigi’s Pizza that evening, she expected something… normal. But as soon as she stepped inside, Mia knew normal wasn’t on the menu.

The restaurant was buzzing with couples out for a special Valentine’s Day treat. Red balloons were tied to every chair, heart-shaped pizzas were on many of the tables, and there was a string of lights that spelled out: “You’ve Stolen a Pizza My Heart.” She chuckled to herself at the fun atmosphere.

Jake greeted her at the counter, grinning like he’d just won the lottery. “I ordered us something special,” he said.

Minutes later, the waiter brought over a massive heart-shaped pizza. But instead of his usual pepperoni, the toppings spelled out: “Marry Me?”

Mia blinked. What was going on?. “Is this real?” she laughed, her voice shaky but full of excitement.

Jake’s response was to pull a tiny velvet box from his pocket and kneel down in front of her. “I figured if you can handle my pizza obsession, you can handle me forever,” he said. “What do you say?”

The entire restaurant froze. Forks stopped mid-air. Conversations hushed. Then, Mia’s face lit up like a Valentine’s Day firework.

“Yes!” she said, laughing and crying all at once.

The room erupted in cheers, and Luigi himself came over singing. “That’s amore!”  Then he set down a giant bowl of heart-shaped cookies to.

As they shared their first slice of happily-ever-after, Mia realized Jake’s weird behavior all week had been worth it. He’d planned the perfect surprise, and it was cheesy in all the best ways.
